MIPS AIR® Technology

The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) AIR® Technology is an advanced head protection system integrated into the helmet’s padding system. This gives the lightest version of this outstanding rotational management system.

The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.

Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head.

3K Carbon Technology

When it comes to lightweight protection, the MET R&D team have taken advantage of the properties of 3K Carbon. A carbon cage is embedded into the helmet, boosting protection levels while not adding weight.

The carbon’s elastic modulus has been taken advantage of, allowing a reduction in the density of the EPS foam by 20% but maintaining the very best level of impact absorption. This gives you a super-light and highly ventilated helmet with no compromise to safety levels.

The Trenta Carbon has been engineered to be both slippery through the air and to optimise air cooling. Starting with the airflow, the front vents harness the power of the Venturi effect. This has the effect of actively drawing in air and pushing warm air out through the rear exhaust vents. This turbo-charged airflow is also achieved without inducing excess drag. 

To the back, the tail of the helmet also works for a specific aerodynamic purpose. Working in synergy with the NACA front vent, the tail design drives airflow for constant cooling. The tube-shaped tail and internal channelling also mean you benefit from up to 7% less drag compared to a more traditional road helmet. Less drag. Less energy wasted. More energy when going for the win. 

Safe-T Orbital Fit

The Trenta Carbon also features MET’s most adjustable fit system yet, the Safe-T Orbital. This allows two-step occipital adjustment, four-step vertical adjustment and a micrometrical dial that allows you to fine-tune the fit for all-day riding comfort.
